Onboarding cost

Every fee, in one place, before you join.

A common complaint about joining NEXA is not the compensation plan. It is fees showing up after someone has already committed. This page exists so that cannot happen to you.

Short answer

NEXA onboarding costs fall into three buckets: one-time items (a background and credit check, reported at $75, and state license sponsorship, reported at $50 per state), recurring items (the technology fee and your loan origination software, reported at roughly $80 to $103 per month after the waiver), and a ramp cost for new loan officers on their first six funded loans. There are no per-file fees under NEXA Unlimited. Figures below are reported, dated, and must be confirmed before you apply.

Bucket one

One-time costs.

ItemReported costWhat it covers
Background and credit check$75Paid once during onboarding compliance.
State license sponsorship$50 per stateCharged per state you activate your MLO license in.

Bucket two

Recurring costs.

ItemReported costWhat it covers
NEXA technology fee$80/mo with LendingPad, $55/mo withoutThe company back-end and email package. Reported as waived for the first 3 months.
Loan origination softwareARIVE $103/mo all-in, or LendingPad $80/mo all-inYour LOS. Both figures include the company back-end. You choose the system.

The realistic steady-state figure is roughly $80 to $103 per month after the waiver period ends. That is the number to hold in your head, not the higher "all-in" totals in older posts online.

Bucket three

The new-loan-officer ramp.

If you are new to originating, NEXA requires a training and mentorship track. It carries a cost on your first loans and it ends on a defined trigger. This is a ramp, not a permanent tax - but it is real.

Mentorship cut on early files

Reported at 55 bps per file on your first six loans, which also satisfies graduation. The mentor's share is reported as capped per file. You earn a reduced split on those files as a mentee.

When it ends

The ramp ends once you are seasoned - reported as six or more funded loans per 90 days. After that the mentorship cut goes away and you are on the full plan.

What you do not pay

The fees that are not there.

  • No per-file fees under NEXA Unlimited.
  • No desk fees. There is no charge for the seat.
  • No volume quota. You are not penalized for a slow month.
  • No recruiting requirement on NEXA Unlimited. You do not have to bring anyone in to keep 100%.
  • No buy-in, no inventory, no product purchase. Nothing to buy to get started.
The honest total

What it adds up to, and what it means.

For an experienced, self-generating loan officer the honest number is roughly $80 to $103 per month after the waiver, plus a one-time cost in the low hundreds depending on how many states you activate.

For a new loan officer the cost is higher for the first six funded loans because of the mentorship ramp, and that is the period where it genuinely bites - before commissions have ramped. That is the honest reason the reviews split the way they do.
