NEXA Academy and training - what you get and what it costs.
I built the program that became the NEXA Academy in 2020 and ran it through more than 600 graduates. So this page carries a bias you should know about - and also more first-hand detail than you will find anywhere else.
The NEXA Academy is NEXA's internal training and mentorship program, required for new loan officers and open to experienced ones. It combines structured curriculum, live coaching and one-on-one mentorship. New loan officers pay for it as a reduced split on their first six funded loans, which ends once they are seasoned. Coaching that previously cost $250 a month is now included.
What the Academy actually is.
- Structured curriculum. Self-paced video training alongside live sessions - not a video library on its own.
- Live coaching. Scheduled live sessions where you work real scenarios.
- One-on-one mentorship. A licensed mentor paired with you through your first loans.
- A graduation trigger. You graduate on funded loans, not on time served. The program is measured by whether you can originate.
- Ongoing access. Experienced loan officers use it too. It is not purely a new-hire program.
What it costs, and when it stops costing.
The mentorship ramp
New loan officers are mentored through their first six funded loans on a reduced split. The mentor's share is reported as capped per file. This step is required.
When the ramp ends
Once you are seasoned - reported as six or more funded loans per 90 days - the mentorship cut ends and you are on the full plan.
Coaching
Coaching that previously carried a $250 monthly fee is now included. That removed a real recurring cost from the new-loan-officer path.
What you are buying
Supervised reps on real files with a licensed mentor. The value is in the reps, not the curriculum.

What I built, and what I do not claim.
I built the program that became the NEXA Academy in 2020. Over 600 loan officers graduated through it after completing six funded loans. At its peak it ran with 13 instructors and roughly 20 virtual assistants, and graduates submitted about 140 loans a week.
I am not the current director of the Academy. I built it and led it, and I no longer run it day to day. What I still do is train the loan officers I personally sponsor.
Is it worth it?
Yes, if you are new and actually use it. The real value is someone senior looking at your first six loans before they go wrong. That is worth more than the reduced split costs you.
If you are already established, the new-loan-officer track is not for you - you should be on the full plan and in live scenario coaching. And like everything at NEXA, the Academy experience depends partly on your sponsor. A sponsor who works your files alongside the program gets you through it faster.
